INTRODUCTION
Botulinum toxin is a drug of natural origin which has successfully been used for over 20 years.
Botulinum toxin each year relieves thousands of
patients around the world, children and adults with eye disorders (strabismus), neurological (club foot of the child, spasticity, torticollis …) and dermatological problems (hyperhidrosis).
Botulinum toxin has been used in the treatment of “dynamic” facial expression lines for more than 10 years. It is authorized for the treatment of frown lines in France since February 2003, and it is commercialized under the name Vistabel.
II-HOW DOES IT WORK IN THE TREATMENT OF WRINKLES?
Botulinum toxin is distinguished from all other wrinkle treatments since it does not act on wrinkles themselves but on the muscles that are responsible for their appearance.
Indeed, “dynamic” wrinkles including wrinkles in the front, the lion or crow’s feet, is the result from a repeated contraction of certain muscles.
Botulinum toxin reduces the muscle contraction that is involved in the process of formation of wrinkles and therefore erases and stops the evolution of the concerned wrinkles.

III WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE PROCEDURE
An initial consultation allows the physician to determine your motivations, to make a diagnosis, to make a precise examination of the anatomy of your face, to seek possible contraindications, and also to inform you and give you an estimation of the cost. The treatment can be performed during the next visit: Botulinum toxin is injected without anesthesia, in small amounts using a very fine needle. This procedure has virtually no downtime but the patient need to, take into account some precautions: it is important, during the 4 or 5 hours after injection, not to massage the injected area, do not lie down and not tilt the head forward.
IV WHEN SEE RESULTS FROM BOTULINUM REJUVENATION
The results become visible from the fourth day, are optimal between 10 and 15 days and persist 4 to 6 months depending on the patient. Regular renewal of sessions can prolong the duration of the action: a session is conducted every four months during the first year and thereafter every 6 months. Treatment with botulinum toxin allows a very natural result: wrinkles are erased and facial expression preserved for the greater satisfaction of patients who find a face full of brilliance.

Botulinum toxin is for all who wish to get rid of facial expressions that make them look anxious or severe. You will find a face rejuvenated and full of sparkle.
